Read the Raiders’ good-luck note to the Golden Knights before the NHL Expansion Draft

Dalvin Cook Authentic Jersey
The NHL expansion Vegas Golden Knights’ roster was revealed piece by piece Wednesday night, but before things got started, they got a metaphorical blow on the dice for good luck.

The Raiders wrote, in part, that they’re eager to share the Southern Nevada spotlight with their NHL counterparts: In the years ahead, we look forward to celebrating victories, working alongside one another in the community and helping to bring the passion and excitement of professional sports to southern Nevada. Just win!!

This is not exactly a surprising pick if you know anything about the new regime in charge with the Magic. They value positional size, athleticism and character, and Isaac has all of those in his repertoire. He’s one of the highest-upside defensive players in the draft, and he’ll be a good weapon for Frank Vogel to deploy in a variety of lineups.

This pick will be going to the Bulls as part of the Jimmy Butler trade. Markkanen gives Chicago the type of floor-spacing threat that it really needs, as the Finnish 7-footer will likely step into the NBA as one of the top-shooting centers from Day One. When taken in conjunction with the trade, the Bulls clearly didn’t get enough. But if considering this pick in a vacuum? It’s fine.

Ntilikina is a heck of a fit for the triangle, and has an exceedingly high upside as a long-armed point guard that can play on both ends of the floor. If the Knicks were set on point guard, I would have gone with Dennis Smith. But it’s certainly not out of the question that Ntilikina ends up an excellent player in New York.

The Mavericks get their point guard of the future with Smith here, a perfect fit for Rick Carlisle to develop a read-and-react, pick-and-roll-based offense. He’ll also be helped immensely early on by Dirk Nowitzki as a partner in crime.

NBA Finals 2017: Steve Kerr predicted Cavs would get tired in Game 3

There is a reason Steve Kerr has had such success in his three years as the Warriors coach.

As Golden State looked to take a three-game lead over the Cavaliers in Wednesday’s NBA Finals matchup, Kerr told his team to keep on top of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving because they were going to run out of gas in the late going.

“I like to compare him to Magic. think he plays a lot more like Magic. A lot more like myself, how I played. Obviously he’s more dominant than both me and Magic because of the way that he plays the game — his physicality, his athleticism surpass Magic, as well as me.”
This isn’t the first time Pippen has compared James to himself. The Hall-of-Fame player made headlines a few years ago when he said, “I was LeBron James before LeBron James.” What he meant then is the same thing he means now: the role James has is similar to the role Pippen had, with a few tweaks.

As for the G.O.A.T. debate, even though it’s hard to compare James to Bryant directly, let’s just go to the root of Pippen’s argument. He says Bryant was more of a scorer instead of a facilitator, which means he should average more points, right? Well, if we compare both players, James has a higher career average for scoring in both the regular season and postseason. In fact, James has scored more total points in the playoffs than Bryant despite playing less games.

He was also more efficient with his shots, shooting a higher field goal percentage than Bryant. And he did all of that while maintaining his rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

The argument for James vs. Jordan is fair, but James vs. Bryant is already over, and The King won.

LaVar Ball gave Lonzo Ball ‘a rep he doesn’t deserve’ according to UCLA teammate

Game Adam Thielen Jersey LaVar Ball has become a controversial figure with his boisterous attitude and controversial comments, and many have expressed their annoyances with him down toward his kids, including 2017 NBA Draft prospect Lonzo Ball. Ball’s former UCLA teammate Bryce Alford said Monday it’s not fair to Lonzo to do that.

George said last week he expected to play out his contract with the Pacers in 2017-18, shooting down rumors that had him bound for the Cavaliers. The four-time NBA All-Star, who averaged 23.7 points per game last season, has repeatedly vowed his loyalty to the Pacers’ organization.

Game Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey George’s loyalty be what prompted him to make his decision known. According to The Vertical, George instructed his agent, Aaron Mintz, to tell Indiana president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard about his decision now, to spare the franchise any confusion about his intentions.

Ironically, George’s well-meant intentions will put pressure on the Pacers to work out a deal with another team, to move George in exchange for assets, rather than just let him walk into free agency.

George stands to rake in a big contract as a free agent. The Vertical reports he could sign a four-year deal worth as much as $130 million with the Lakers next season.

KYRIE IRVING IS A BAAAAAD MAN. Another huge 3-pointer puts the Cavs up by more than 20, and he’s got 40 points on 15-of-27 shooting with seven rebounds and four assists. He wants to fly back to Oakland. Cavs 132, Warriors 112. Less than two minutes.

NBA Finals 2017: Why the Warriors aren’t worried about Klay Thompson’s shooting woes

Game Leo Komarov Jersey Nobody in Golden State seems worried about Klay Thompson’s shooting woes. Winning your first 13 playoff games, almost all of them in dominant fashion, tends to assuage concerns about cold streaks, especially when Thompson’s defense has been key to the Warriors’ run.

Thompson’s offensive struggles continued in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, as he shot 3 for 13 from the field, missing all five of his 3-point attempts, in the Warriors’ 113-91 win over the Cavaliers. Over Golden State’s last five game, Thompson is shooting an anemic 29 percent, Pro Basketball Talk notes.

But Thompson is an elite defender, and he gave the Cavs fits Thursday night. Cleveland players shot 1 of 12 when guarded by Thompson in Game 1, and they were incredibly fortunate to get that one bucket. The shot that went in was a 3-point prayer by Kyrie Irving, which turned out to be a 4-point play.

With 6:05 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter and the Cavs leading 79-78, LeBron James had 19 points, well short of his regular-season average (27.3 points per game). Then, James took his game to another level.

Through 16 minutes of the fourth quarter and two overtime periods, James scored 29 of Cleveland’s final 30 points, leading the Cavs to a 109-107 double-overtime victory. The one non-James point was provided by Drew Gooden, who made one of two at the free-throw line with 2:49 left in the fourth quarter.

It wasn’t just the crazy scoring streak — it was how LeBron did it. Opposing coaches hoped young LeBron would settle for jumpers as opposed to strong drives toward the rim, but on this night, he did just about everything. He finished at the basket with ease, drilled pull-up jumpers and stretched his range out beyond the 3-point line.

Cowboys can trust Dak Prescott to lead much bigger comeback

Dak Prescott delivered the perfect comeback in his first playoff game as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback. That fact won’t be altered by the game ending in his first playoff setback.

Dallas can only think about what if Prescott had a few more seconds and one more possession in Sunday’s 34-31 upset loss to Green Bay. But he was the reason the Cowboys, who at one point were down 21-3, could even hang with a red-hot, Aaron Rodgers-led Packers offense for four quarters.

Even with a big lead, it took Rodgers making a great throw, Jared Cook making a great catch and Mason Crosby making two consecutive long field goals for the Packers to knock out the Cowboys.

The Packers scored twice in the third but didn’t do enough on the other side of the ball to diminish the Falcons’ lead. The only interesting aspect of the fourth quarter would be the points total, which was set at 61 by Vegas oddsmakers.

Updates became obligatory long before Jared Cook’s touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. It capped a 14-play Green Bay drive that only those who took the over likely cared about. Christine Michael failed to score on the two-point conversion. 44-21, Falcons.

Antonio Brown apologizes for locker room video: ‘It was wrong of me to do’

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, hoping to put to rest any lingering controversy surrounding Mike Tomlin’s expletive-laced speech he streamed live Sunday night, apologized for creating a distraction ahead of this weekend’s AFC championship game.
Game Mens Joe Schobert Jersey
I let my emotions and genuine excitement get the best of me, and I wanted to share that moment with our fans, Brown said in a statement posted to his Twitter account late Tuesday. It was wrong of me to do, against team and NFL policy, and I have apologized to Coach Tomlin and my teammates for my actions.

You werent able to get as much pressure on him as you were… a reporter asked Bennett (via the Seattle Times).

That didnt go over well with Bennett.

We got a lot of pressure, Bennett replied. He threw the ball really fast. There was some busted stuff going on so obviously you dont know football. He threw the ball pretty fast. He did his thing. We rushed as good as we could. Dont point and say we didnt do what we needed to do, OK Dont do that.

Get out of my face now. Dont tell me I didnt do my job (expletive). OK, exactly. Get the (expletive) out of my face. Like I said, get out of my face. Dont play with me. Dont play with me. I just put my heart on the (expletive) field. Dont (expletive) play with me. Get the (expletive) out of my face then. Try me again, see what happens. I aint one of these (expletive) out here. Dont try to tell me what I didnt do (expletive).

Game Mens Ben Ijalana Jersey Bennett appeared to be frustrated for much of the day, pointing several times at Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews, who cut-block Bennett during the teamsregular-season meeting in Seattle, and also tying to eye gouge Ryan Schrader. He also left the game briefly in the third quarter.

NFL investigating Steelers for handling of Le’Veon Bell’s injury

The NFL is looking into how the Steelers handled Le’Veon Bell’s groin injury prior to the AFC Championship, a league spokesman told Omnisport.
Mens Al Jefferson Jersey
Bell exited the game against the Patriots, and afterward acknowledged the injury had been bothering him for a while. Coach Mike Tomlin revealed he knew about the injury as well, but did not add him to the injury report because it wasn’t significant to the point where it affected planning or the anticipation of planning in any way.

NFL officials will likely speak with Bell, medical personnel and coaches in order to determine the facts about the case. The running back missed a few practices late in the season, but the reasoning listed on the injury report was not injury related.

The Seahawks are facing a similar league inquiry thanks to an unreported Richard Sherman knee injury.

Bill Clark had Bears rookie Jordan Howard, the NFL’s second leading rusher in 2016, during his sophomore season at UAB before he transferred to Indiana.
Mens William Gay Jersey
At 6-0, 222 pounds, Howard’s size is comparible to Bell’s. He’s also been blessed with great hands and feet to match, but Howard’s more of a classic power back. He churned out more than 1,300 yards and scored six times after stealing the the starting gig from Jeremy Langford, another Michigan State product, the old-fashion waya鈧€漛y keeping his legs moving and his pad level low at the line of scrimmage, then making one cut to reach the second level of the defense. It’s a formula for success Clark said should be admired by up and coming running backs.

Angels slugger Albert Pujols hits grand slam for home run No. 600

Elite Kids Trent Brown Jersey With a grand slam down the left-field line against the Twins, Albert Pujols continued to make history.

Pujols hit the 600th home run of his career with a towering blast that tucked inside the foul pole at Angel Stadium.

The 25-year-old right-hander has not pitched since May 3, after being diagnosed with the cancer. He had surgery on May 8.

After some productive starts with the Pirates’ Double-A team in Altoona and then at Triple-A Indianapolis, Taillon says he’s ready.

Physically, mentally, I’m 100 percent, Taillon told reporters Saturday (via the Post-Gazette). I’m as sharp as I’ve been all year. If anything, I had some time while I was away to work on things I wanted to get done and sharpen up. I’m probably in a better spot now than I was before.
Elite Kids Justin Simmons Jersey
Taillon had been one of the bright spots this year for the struggling Pirates, posting a 2-1 record and 3.31 ERA in six starts before his diagnosis.

The Pirates have optioned pitcher Tyler Glasnow to Indianapolis to make room for Taillon in the rotation. Baseball is looking for guys who can run, have the athleticism and have speed. This game pays for that. That’s another message I want to be able to send, that the opportunities that baseball has are pretty unbelievable if you look at it. It’s unfortunate that some of these families don’t see that. So that’s definitely one of my goals, to reach out to the African-American, especially the middle-school kids, and just let them know that there’s a lot there. There’s a lot of work you have to do, obviously, you have to commit to it, but there’s a big reward at the end of it.

The two shockers by the Giants over the Patriots.

Had the Falcons held on, either by finishing off the blowout underway in the third quarter or by surviving the Patriots’ rally, this game might still have ranked high, just from the shock factor. A group playing in this game for the first time (and just the second time for the entire franchise) beating the dynasty of our time would have qualified for the honor.

The fact that the Patriots overcame all of that in the final 21 1/2 minutes of regulation, then in overtime, makes this one a masterpiece.

The excellence of this game serves as a reminder of how much better and more dramatic this last decade or so of games has been. Super Bowl 49, saved for the Patriots against the Seahawks by Malcolm Butler’s goal-line pick. The goal-line stand by the Ravens against the 49ers in Super Bowl 47. Tracy Porter’s stunning pick-six on Peyton Manning for the Saints in Super Bowl 44. The fourth-quarter dramatics in Super Bowl 43 between the Steelers and Cardinals that ended with Santonio Holmes’ catch. The two shockers by the Giants over the Patriots.

The brothers’ decision came after a group of musicians, artists and social justice advocates urged the NFL players “to consider withdrawing from the delegation given Israel’s track record of human rights abuses.”

An open letter signed by singer Harry Belafonte, activist Angela Davis, actor Danny Glover, former sprinter John Carlos and others and released Thursday implored the athletes “to consider the political ramifications of attending the trip, drawing connections between the struggles faced by Black and Brown communities in the U.S., and Palestinian, Eritrean and Sudanese communities in Israel/Palestine.” The letter was co-signed by the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, among other organizations.

Steelers’ offseason roster moves can, should be made with Super Bowl in mind

The Steelers continued their string of playoff improvement with a run to the AFC championship game after the 2016 season. Their next goal has to be the Super Bowl, an accomplishment much easier said than done.

Womens Omar Vizquel Jersey Since 2009, 50 percent of the teams that lost in the conference title game have failed to advance to the playoffs the following year, while just over 20 percent have advanced to a Super Bowl.

The first 51 Super Bowl winners in NFL history have presented us with many wonderful memories, from Garo Yepremian’s ill-fated pass to William “The Refrigerator” Perry’s touchdown run to Jackie Smith’s dropped TD.

OK, so not all of the memories were of brilliant football.

But there was a lot of that, too. So which of the 51 Super Bowl winners was the best? Which was the “worst”? They were all winners, but how do they rank in order of greatness? Sporting News endeavored to establish the definitive ranking, which we did by tapping into the collective wisdom of our staff.

White still managed to shine, earning Big 10 Freshman of the Year honors in 2010 and finishing his college career with 17 games of 100-plus rushing yards. He set a school record with a 93-yard run in 2013 against Indiana.

“I’ve always been a team player and shared a backfield with great running backs,” White said. “I think it makes the team better because you can depend on other guys. You don’t try to do too much.”

Womens Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Jersey White has gradually assumed a bigger role in New England’s offense as part of a running back rotation with LeGarrette Blount and Dion Lewis. White caught a career-high 60 passes for 551 yards and five touchdowns in 2016 while registering another 166 yards on 39 carries.
