White Sox’s Jose Abreu ate part of his fake passport en route to U.S., he testifies

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu, fearing he would lose out on a $68 million contract, ate part of the fake passport he used in 2013 to fly to the U.S. as part of an alleged operation to smuggle Cuban baseball players, he testified Wednesday in federal court in Miami.

Limited Womens Francisco Lindor Jersey The negotiations between Cousins and Washington will be interesting because the quarterback actually holds most of the leverage. Here’s ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio with an explanation as to how things can go:

There’s a way for Cousins to force Washington to be reasonable as to its expectations. If Cousins, who has yet to sign his $23.94 million franchise tender, were to declare that he won’t be signing it until the week preceding the regular-season opener, Washington would have to decide whether to take whatever San Francisco is offering to get the deal done now or to launch a multi-month game of chicken, with the team embarking on the offseason program and then training camp and then the preseason without Cousins and Cousins risking that the $23.94 million tender will be yanked at any time.

Authentic Kids Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Jersey The Redskins could rescind the tender to Cousins, but that would mean they get nothing in return for him and he’d likely bolt to San Francisco anyways. So it’s either the Redskins keep Cousins and risk paying him $23.94 million this season to do nothing, or they take their deal back and he leaves.

A trade would make the most sense for both sides since Cousins gets what he wants, and the Redskins get value for their quarterback. But for some reason Snyder doesn’t plan on making a deal, and the Redskins have embarrassed themselves yet again.
